Jurors
A nine-member jury will review each of the entries and determine the winners. Jury members are:
- Sue Gott, University of Michigan Campus Planner
- Douglas Hanna, University of Michigan Campus Architect
- Douglas Kelbaugh, Dean, Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning
- Christopher Kendall, Dean of the School of Music, Theater and Dance
- David Munson, Dean of the College of Engineering
- Martha Pollack, Dean of the School of Information
- Bryan Rogers, Dean of the School of Art and Design
- Student from North Campus (tbd)
- Special guest (tbd)
The competition advisor will oversee the jurying process to ensure impartial enforcement of the rules as described in this brief. The jury's selections will be final.
Criteria
Jury members will base their review of the projects on the quality of the work submitted and the depth, clarity, and insight of the team's vision for North Campus. Each juror will assess the submissions on the following criteria.
- Ability of the scheme to serve as a meaningful destination/attraction;
- Originality of the team's design proposal;
- Thoughtfulness of the vision's response to the overall campus and its immediate context;
- Feasibility of the proposal;
- Clarity and Thoroughness of proposal and presentation materials.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded as follows:
- First Prize—$10,000
- Second Prize—$5,000
- Honorable Mentions—Up to $5,000 will be distributed
Prizes will be distributed to team members as indicated on the submission form. In accepting their prizes, the winners consent to the use of their names, photos, and biographical information in all media, without notice or additional compensation. Any taxes on the prize money are the sole responsibility of the winners. Each team member will be issued a tax form for the value of his/her portion of the prize.
